Ectoplasm is said to be produced when mediums are in a trance. The material is excreted as a gauze-like substance from a medium's body and spiritual entities are said to drape the substance over them, allowing them to interact with the physical universe.
Ectoplasm has not exactly been confirmed real. However there are materials that ectoplasm resemble like chiffon and animal or human skin.
